Working Procedures During Covid 19 Pandemic - Gripvan London Ltd
In order to safeguard the health and safety of the GV team, our regular freelancers and our clients, as a business, we have made a number of changes to the way we work. These have been designed considering guidelines from the government. They are as follows:
Where it is possible to work from home, we will do so
Travelling to and from work will be done mostly by bike, reducing the risk of transmission while using crowded trains and busses. Where this is not possible, we will be encouraged to travel outside peak times.
If anyone experiences any symptoms, however mild, they will stay at home for a period of 7 days from when the symptoms started. If, after 7 days, a temperature has returned to normal, self isolation can stop. A cough may continue, but, without a temperature, isolation is not necessary.
We have implemented a split shift system so there are less people within the building at any one time to enable social distancing (maintaining 2m distance) at work. Shifts will consist of the same personnel each day.
Where at all possible, PPE will be available for all, as well as hand washing facilities with hot water. Everyone will be reminded to wash hands regularly.
Key points of transmission ( common areas, door handles etc ) to be cleaned regularly. Vehicles to be cleaned and controls to be sanitised regularly.
We have implemented a new cleaning process to ensure all kit and vehicles are sanitised as thoroughly as possible between jobs. All equipment will be prepared for jobs as far in advance as possible to incorporate this.
Customer collections are by appointment only and managed to minimise contact. We trust that clients will work with us to minimise the risk of transmission and of course stay at home if experiencing symptoms.
Working practices on shoots
Where at all possible, work will proceed on a strictly departmental basis. Camera department only to handle camera equipment, particularly if supplied by the team from the camera department. Lighting department to handle lights equipment and so on. If equipment from a number of departments has been supplied by GV, we would advise pre-cleaning before use. Hand washing etc should follow this.
When not moving around the set each department will remain in a defined area of the studio or location.
Hand sanitiser, washing facilities to be available on all shoots so that we can all wash hands regularly. We will all use personal water bottles and keep-cups. Where at all possible, PPE will be provided, but we must also consider the use of other safety equipment (rigger gloves etc) when on set.
Crew must not attend the shoot if feeling unwell. This will be emphasised to all crew before every shoot. Wherever possible crew will work in teams comprising the same individuals for every shoot.
Social distancing can be aided by
Large monitors or more monitors made available to avoid ‘crowding’ .
Capture Pilot and iPads used to avoid ‘crowding’. Capture Pilot Web browser used in conjunction with Zoom conference to allow remote agency or client participation in shoot.
Full guidance will be available to the team back at our warehouse and to all on shoots. More information on the .Gov website here:
